"Excellent hotel at a reasonable price"
We stayed here with our two children aged 10 and 6 during the school holidays for one night. We had a twin room which consisted of two queen size beds. The rooms were tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a view over the city and river though it was partially blocked by other buildings. You can also get a view over the bay which is in the distance but I think the city view rooms have a better outlook. The bathroom was also spotlessly clean. We went to the swimming pool on the third floor and it was very pleasant with an outdoor area with sunlounges. There is a shuttle bus that leaves the hotel every hour and stops in the CBD and other stops also. Overall whilst it doesn't have the plushness of Crown Towers it was a very good hotel and a reasonably price.

"Fantastic hotel with great staff"
Have just returned from a week at the Crown Promenade and have been very impressed with the overall experience. The staff were genuinely warm, frequently initiating friendly conversation. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Loved the pool and Gym. Great value and service and just across the road from the Crown Casino complex. One potential issue for Children though is that the covered bridge to the crowne complex goes straight through the Casino. Children under 18 cant take this route to the food court, though the outside detour is not too inconvnient in fine weather.

"Luxurious and private"
We stayed here for 9 nights at the beginning of January 2007. As we parked, we were greeted immediately and the car was unpacked and taken to the car park (valet parking only, $20 per night). The reception area was large and the reception staff were helpful and welcoming. Lift access to the accommodation area was by guest-key only and the rooms were reasonably large (two queen beds) and well-furnished with an excellent standard of fittings. The bathroom had a large, walk-in shower only (no bath) but was clean and well maintained. Housekeeping was excellent and consistent throughout our stay. It was easy to have no contact whatsoever with any of the hotel staff although the concierge staff were helpful and friendly when driving up the car and the barman was knowledgeable about beers (but then, that's his job!). There's a walkway on the third floor across to the Crown casino complex beside the river. The casino has a distinct "Las Vegas" feel about it which may suit some. Southgate is a five minute walk away and Swanston Street is a ten minute walk across the river. The hotel is close to the freeway and toll road making it easy to explore the surroundings by car. Altogether this was a top-quality hotel which lived up to our expectations.
