"Nice, clean, comfortable rooms."
I have stayed here twice. Once in July of 06 and in January of 07. I found it to be a very neat, clean and comfortable room. I'm not sure what full price is, but we got a special deal on the internet and only paid $130 for two single beds.
In regards to the view, the first time we stayed there we had a glazed window, so some light would come in, but you couldn't see out, which didn't bother us at all because we were there to sleep! The staff were very friendly, and I had the buffet for breakfast which was delicious! It cost about $20 but was well worth it. Location wise it is great, you can see Federation Square from the front entrance, and it is a 20 minute walk to venues like Rod Laver Arena and Vodaphone. Otherwise a taxi ride from Vodaphone to the hotel cost about $6. There is also a free tram that runs outside the hotel around the city centre. Up a couple of blocks is Bourke Street Mall. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will be staying there again next time I am in Melbourne!

"Brilliant location with friendly staff"
Once I got to the Southern Cross Railway Station, it was a quick 10 minute trip in the free shuttle bus service to the hotel. I was able to check in at 1200 and given a 'buy one, get one free' drink voucher to use at the bar. The Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I stayed on the 7th floor with my Mum in a twin room. The beds were king singles and very comfortable. The room was a good size and although the hotel is located in the heart of the city, there was no noise from the surrounding streets. The tram and railway station (Flinders railway station) was literally at your front door and the city shops/restaurants and cafes are minutes away. I live in Sydney and visit Melbourne a few times a year. I will definitely book Citigate hotel from now on.

"Unbeatable location"
The great advantage of the Citigate is its wonderful location right across the street from the Flinders Street Station and within walking distance of the river, several museums and the central shopping district. I stayed here twice in February, at the beginning and end of an organized tour of Australia, and liked it a lot. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished.
